Polls from Iran show that Iranians have a positive view of America. Keep in mind, this are the same Iranians upon whom ALL presidential candidates except Ron Paul, Dennis Jucinich and Mike Gravel, would consider making a pre-emptive Nuclear Strike.
Unfortunately, the people in charge are the ones who may need to be nuked. If the people have a positive view of America, then they should their "president" how they feel and how they want to deal with us.
Part of the problem is that Ahmadinejad is a bone-headed demagogue. Another part of the problem is that our politicians are also demagogues, only with power that is currently more restrained on the domestic front.
It often serves politicians to set peoples against each other. Most conflict helps them gain "legitimacy". That phenomenon is exclusive to any country or form of government.
